Who this hour is for

Three people this session was built for.

You have skills, and your portfolio does not show them

Hiring-side readers spend minutes, not hours. You leave knowing what a portfolio has to do in those minutes.

You are between fields, and the interview formats are new to you

Timed exercises and take-home tests are learnable formats. You see them from the reviewer's side of the table.

You are deciding whether a structured program is worth it

One free session, taught by the founder, about the exact work the Career track does all year. You will know by the end of the hour.

A live build, not a lecture

The Number Is Not the Answer

Most sports analytics interviews are not testing whether you can recall a formula. They are testing whether someone watching can follow how you got there. This session works real interview questions live on the whiteboard: expected-value problems, model critique, and the open-ended cases that have no single right answer. The working stays on the board, because the working is the part being graded.

You will watch this get built

  • A worked whiteboard solution to an expected-value problem, from setup through to the number
  • A repeatable structure for open-ended case questions that have no single right answer
  • A short critique of a deliberately flawed model, of the kind interviewers hand over to be picked apart

You will leave knowing

  • How sports analytics interviews are scored, and why the working counts for more than the number
  • Framing an expected-value question on a whiteboard so the interviewer can follow every step
  • Handling open-ended cases where the interviewer is watching the approach rather than the answer
  • Talking through a model's weaknesses without either defending it or abandoning it
Who teaches it

Taught live by the person who does the work.

Michael S. Czahor, PhDBuilds sports analytics products and runs hiring-side reviews. This session: interview preparation, from the hiring side. Live means live: you watch the build happen, you ask questions in the room, and the decisions get explained as they are made.

The sports industry moves fast. Managing the pace of evolving technology, data, and AI isn't optional - it's imperative. Our Analytics team was looking for a partner to meet us where we are, to help us in the continued investment of our people and capabilities without pulling us away from the work that matters. AthlyticZ delivers exactly that: a structured, practitioner-led platform that fits how modern sports analytics groups actually operate.

Questions people actually ask.

Is it actually free?

Yes. Attending live is free, and there is no card involved. You register so we can send you the join link.

What do I need?

A browser and the join link we send you. There is nothing to install to attend.

What if I cannot make it live?

Register anyway. Afterwards we send you our write-up of what got built, and the invitation to the next session. Attending live is the free part; everything that outlives the hour belongs to the Masterclass.

What level is this?

The session page states the level under the title. Sessions are taught as live builds, so watching the decisions get made is useful one level up and one level down from the stated one.

What happens after I register?

You get a confirmation with a calendar link now, the join link before the session, and our write-up of what got built afterwards. That is the whole of it.
