Who this is for

  • Python users who write analysis scripts and keep copy-pasting them, and want reusable, reliable, shareable code instead.

Not for you if

  • You've never written Python
  • You already ship polished packages with CI
  • You want an R packaging course — this is Python
  • You only ever write one-off throwaway scripts

Session by session

  • Mon Sep 711:00–13:30 ETSession 1. Session 1 · From script to structure — modules and package layout, pyproject and dependencies, an editable install; your script becomes an installable skeleton.
  • Tue Sep 811:00–13:30 ETSession 2. Session 2 · Tests and reliability — pytest essentials, fixtures, covering the paths that break; a test suite that guards your package.
  • Thu Sep 1011:00–13:30 ETSession 3. Session 3 · Docs, distribution, reuse — documentation, versioning, publishing to PyPI; a package teammates can pip install.

Subject: Approval request — AthlyticZ workshop: From Scripts to Package: Building Reusable Python Code

Hi [Manager],

I'd like to enroll in "From Scripts to Package: Building Reusable Python Code," a live 3-session workshop from AthlyticZ (Sep 7, Sep 8, Sep 10) led by Joseph Barbier. Across three sessions you'll turn a messy analysis script into a clean, tested, documented Python package your team can pip install. It is directly relevant to my work, and I'll finish with a concrete deliverable I can bring back to the team.

It includes live instruction, lifetime replays, and a provisioned enterprise Posit workspace. Could this come out of our learning and development budget? I'm happy to forward the receipt and a certificate of completion.

Thanks,
[Your name]
